Grand Marais Light
It was my intention to spend the day along the shores of Lake Superior at Grand Marais. I envisioned the cool breeze, billowy clouds and sunshine that the weather app promised, but it was not to be. At the time of my arrival, it was cold, hazy, and still. I carried my camera gear down to the shore to determine what my next move was, seeing that my plans were dashed, and sat down on the damp stones. The waters lapped the shoreline, jostling the smooth stones into a rhythmic clacking. I took a few deep breaths and opened my eyes, and instantly realized that my subject that day was right before me.
When I see this print on my wall, I think back to that day and the sense of calm that washed over me returns, greeting me like a long lost friend.
