Birch Stand

from $120.00

Minnesota’s North wouldn’t be the same without the birch. You know that you are on your way when you see that rippling bark and hear the familiar rustle of leaves in the breeze. The birch is a true sign that Nature’s bounty is all around you, and fresh lake air is usually close at hand.

As children, we learned of the Indigenous peoples of our land using the light weight and flexible bark to make beautiful canoes and wigwams. As a photographer, you also learn that each tree’s bark is it’s own fingerprint, with amazing landscapes to behold. When looking closer, all manner of insects and arachnids live their lives among the ever present ridges and lichen that adorn the surface—a new discovery of this fascinating landscape is always right around the corner.

This birch stand reminds me of the cool, crisp morning air of Minnesota’s lake country of my youth. I hope that this photograph can transport you to your special place as well.

Archival print, matted in white:
7” x 10” print matted to 11” x 14”
12” x 16” print matted to 16”x 20”.
The piece is titled and signed on the matting.
