Terraces of Machu Picchu
We made our way along the main grounds of Machu Picchu toward the stairway that lead to the temple of Intihuatana. The steep terraced cliff face disappeared nearly 2000 feet into the Urubamba river valley below. I was more than a little uneasy with our exposure at this height, but the beauty of the vista made me imagine I was a condor, gliding through the sky.
