My Favorite Sessions: Janea

Creating on the fly

My friend Janea reached out to me for some personal branding photos. She was looking to up her game for a new personal training side hustle, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to assist her. I did, however, require some some help from her in exchange—to make some amazing portraits! We really didn’t have any ideas to start with, so we just started to develop some ideas on the fly! The session did not disappoint.

We started with some dresses from my studio wardrobe. I really wanted to create some stunning editorial style black and whites that would demonstrate her natural beauty and grace.

From there, we decided to use the wicker chair and a frilly boho dress to create a summertime feel. Janea is a natural in front of the camera, so it was fun to work through a variety of poses and discover some beautiful compositions along the way. We were able to capture these amazing portraits, which the first image received a Bronze with Distinction from The Portrait Masters.

After that set, we shifted gears to our fitness shoot. It was so much fun to take these portraits that exude her strength, spirit, and passion!

In my studio, we celebrate who you are, as you are. I make a point to discuss with my clients that I am a light touch, body positive editor—I do not edit body shape into the body line for my general portrait work. I want all my clients to see their natural beauty with confidence and power. I want to provide a safe environment where my clients feel creative, free, and secure to be the person they know they are.

I’d love to have the opportunity to work with anyone to create branding and portraits that will stand the test of time. Contact me for a consultation!
